Straightforward motel with unpretentious rooms in Cornwall
No guest laundry and as thru hikers we had to leave by 6am. The staff was only available via Ring camera and promised to have our laundry done by 6am if we left it outside our door. It's now 515 and the laundry hasn't been picked up yet.
A great little roadside motel. It's not a luxury hotel, and it doesn't pretend to be—but it's clean, comfortable, reasonably priced, and clearly run by people who care. I saw the owners out scrubbing the sidewalks and keeping the property looking nice. They were very accommodating when I arrived late and even provided an iron when I needed one. The rooms are on the smaller side, but perfectly comfortable for a short stay. If you're looking for a simple, well-kept place to stay in the area, I'd happily recommend it.
Not a great place to stay. No coffee, no breakfast. A shower so small I could barely use it. Light from the street light streamed through the door all night.
Literally scary… I stayed here during Thanksgiving weekend 2024. My water pump went kaput and I had no water. All the local hotels were booked. He charged $150 a night due to the holiday. The bed was situated diagonally in the room because the room was too small to fit it, So I had to walk sideways to get to the bathroom. Speaking of, as tiny as one could imagine. I was unable to reach all of my body parts to wash them in the shower. It was so small. On the “ceiling“ of the shower stall there were so many cobwebs hanging down that they touched my hair so I was crouched down, trying to avoid the cobwebs and trying to reach my legs to wash them. There was some kind of bug that had built its nest on the headboard that I did ask them to come and remove. My bad did not have an My bed did not have a mattress pad on it. Hi Otherwise, the owner could be described as less than interested in his guests comfort overall. How anybody would find this to be a 5 star location.. and I am not being sarcastic here… I simply cannot comprehend. This place is a complete and utter dump.
The owners were so kind to us, after we hobbled off the AT in need of rest and a shower. We were able to order pizza. The shower was hot and had good pressure. The room is no frills, but we enjoyed our night here.
