Things to Do in Montagu

Montagu Nature Garden is a nature garden in Montagu encompassing 12 hectares of arid hillside, plain, and moist stream habitats. We offer over 8km of gravel pathways and a 1.7km circular walking trail to the summit of Bessiekop with panoramic views. Our garden features indigenous fynbos, succulent karoo, and renosterveld flora, including succulents, bulbs, and trees. Visitors can find tortoises, buck, porcupines, hares, dassies, and diverse birdlife. We provide expansive shaded lawns for picnicking by a stream.

Badskloof Trail is a hiking area in Montagu with trails leading to a gun turret on Cogmanskloof and Vlermuis Waterfall. Our hiking routes connect to Piet-se-pad and offer paths for various skill levels, including those suitable for children. We are open from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM daily.
